Job Description

St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance has an opening for an Agency Services Specialist, located in our Phoenix office. This position is responsible for training and compliance of all programs executed by agency partners within an assigned geographic region.  Programs include TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), donated food, mobile distributions, grocery rescue and agency shopping.

Key Responsibilities of the Agency Services Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting regular on-site visits to build relationship and knowledge of agency partnerships within assigned geographic region.
  • Collaborating with assigned agencies in identifying issues and creating tailored action plans to improve customer service and to resolve compliance issues.
  • Monitoring and auditing assigned agency partners for USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), DES (Department of Economic Security), and Feeding America compliance related to specific program and food safety requirements.
  • Training assigned agencies to bring them into compliance.
  • Providing monthly agency reporting in assigned geographic area including analysis of product being used and waste, if applicable.
  • Documenting and recording complaints related to assigned agencies, investigating and reporting to DES and, in consultation with Manager, placing on probation, suspension or termination as appropriate
  • Assessing capacity of assigned agencies and communicating with Agency Capacity Manager.
  • Conducting and documenting initial site visits of potential new agency partners.
  • Providing monthly status reports utilizing food bank data management systems such as CERES and Link2Feed.
  • Working closely with Agency Services, Allocations, Logistics and Transportation to coordinate distribution dates and product.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Skills / Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Previous experience with policy compliance oversight would be helpful.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License - able to travel – up to 50%.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
