Job Description

St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance has an opening for a Warehouse Operations I Associate in Phoenix at the Knight Center Distribution Warehouse. The Operations Warehouse I Associate assists with order verification, order filling, storage of food and non-food product, receiving, distribution, inventory and cycle counting in accordance with established policies, and procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized facility as well as maintaining compliance with Feeding America and Maricopa County Health Department Inspection guidelines.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations I Associate include, but are not limited to:

  • Unloading product from trailers and moving to assigned staging areas.
  • Palletizing and shrink wrapping product for stability, proper storage and transportation.
  • Selecting allocated product using pick-tickets for all food bank distributions.
  • Maintaining a safe and orderly environment through proper storage, area maintenance and cleaning.
  • Maintaining forklift cleanliness, following up on maintenance issues and daily inspection logs.
  • Supporting facility general maintenance requirements; sweeping, mopping, dumping trash, etc.
  • Assisting receiving with the weighing and staging of all incoming products.
  • Communicating effectively and respectfully with team members, supervisors/managers, and all customers/clients.
  • Rotating perishable product using first-in, first-out management to ensure quality.
  • Safety sensitive position.

Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma (GED) required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in warehouse operations or related field.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures.
  • Ability to operate powered equipment such as a forklift and/or electric power jack.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Food Handlers Card/Certification.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving.
