The Warehouse Operations Supervisor will supervise and assist the receiving, distribution, and warehousing activities of the food bank.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising, assisting, and monitoring the receiving and weighing of all incoming and outgoing product.
  • Completing daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
  • Ensuring receiving and transferring tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Performing inventory reconciliations.
  • Ensuring quality customer service to all clients.
  • Oversight of the Warehouse Department including shipping/receiving docks, coolers, freezers and dry storage areas.
  • Ensuring all power equipment is properly maintained (forklifts, electric jacks, etc.) and clean, addressing maintenance requests and completing daily inspection logs.
  • Collaborating with Inventory, Transportation, Logistics Department, as well as with other Operations management staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Assisting with offloading of product from trailers to assigned staging areas.
  • Overseeing wrapping and placement of product on pallets to ensure stability, proper storage and transportation.
  • Maintaining all applicable food safety standards.
  • Ensuring quality assurance standards of product are maintained, rotating products to preserve quality.
  • Performing temperature checks on incoming product and trailers as well as recording and maintaining temperature logs of coolers and freezers, reporting issues as needed.
  • Scheduling staff and volunteers and processing payroll documentation.
  • Maintaining a solid understanding of staff duties and assignments.
  • Addressing all staffing needs and assessments (interviewing, hiring, training, performance reviews, corrective action, terminations, etc.) providing ongoing supervision and leadership.
  • Working closely with Operations Manager and Operations Director identifying and implementing cost reduction strategies.
  • Securing facility by locking and unlocking all buildings, setting/unsetting the alarm system daily, and performing routine safety and security checks.
  • Safety-sensitive position.


Skills / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications sought:

  • Food Handler Card/Certification
  • Forklift Trainer certified.
  • Minimum of three-five years’ work experience in related environment.
  • Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with a warehouse management computer based system a plus.
  • Understanding of computer based inventory systems.
