Production Coordinator - Kids' Cafe Program

Join St. Mary?s Food Bank Alliance as a Production Coordinator for our Kids Cafe Cold Meal Program at our Surprise, Arizona location. Work closely with members of your community who volunteer to prepare cold meals for the Kids Cafe Program to feed children who are food insecure. The Coordinator will be responsible leading volunteers, inmates and community service workers in the preparation of cold meals.

Founded in 1967, St. Mary?s is known as the world?s first food bank.  Our mission is to alleviate hunger in our state by gathering and distributing food to those in need while encouraging self-sufficiency. 

Responsibilities of the Production Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Assembling and setting-up for daily production activities including sandwich production; bulk food breakdown and re-pack; meat and cheese slicing; produce sorting and cleaning and meal bagging assembly.
  • Directing, motivating, and working closely with assigned volunteers, inmates and community service workers to complete daily production targets.
  • Providing input on resources required to complete daily production activities, as well as input on creating production efficiencies.
  • Point of contact for all production related issues.
  • Tracking progress on daily production targets.
  • Monitoring and ensuring quality control measures are strictly adhered to.
  • Collaborating with other St. Mary?s Food Bank Alliance staff in support of the Kids Caf? program.
  • Conducting weekly physical inventory and rotating products as needed and communicating inventory issues and/or needs to Kids Caf? Production Manager.
  • Preparing daily agency invoices and other required daily paperwork for production operations.
  • Providing regular production information and data for performance reports.
  • Completing daily and weekly facility cleaning logs for all functional areas in Kids Caf? Operation.
  • Establishing and overseeing paperwork management system in production operation.
  • Preparing and staging product and materials for next day?s production
  • Periodically covering meal delivery routes.
  • Receiving purchased product.
  • Operating a 15 passenger (or greater) van/bus to transport inmates from Perryville Prison.
  • Transporting coolers, meals and other materials to client sites.
  • Safety sensitive position.

Minimum Qualifications sought:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a food production and food safety role.
  • Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire)
  • Forklift Certified (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire)
  • The ability to lift, carry, move up to 60 lbs.
  • Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience working with seniors and/or volunteers would be helpful.
