Food and Fund Drive Coordinator

Founded in 1967, St. Mary’s is known as the world’s first food bank. We are currently seeking a Food and Fund Drive Coordinator for our busy Development department. The Food and Fund Drive Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the food and fund drive program, donor outreach, database & volunteer management, and assisting with the Corporate Giving Officer’s day-to-day tasks.

This position entails a high volume of phone calls and requires excellent customer service skills. Ideal candidates will have a background in customer service, sales and experience working in a nonprofit environment. Candidates must be familiar with MS Word and Excel, some experience with basic database applications and possess a strong attention to detail. Candidates must be flexible and comfortable working in a team environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide food/fund drive and general donor telephone support including answering incoming calls, online food and fund drive registration forms, and emails.
  • Retain and cultivate existing food and fund drive/corporate donors.
  • Schedule delivery and pickup of food drive collection materials.
  • Work in multiple databases.
  • Provide field support for assigned food drives, events, and food drive activities.
  • Work closely with Corporate Giving Officer on day-to-day tasks.
  • Assist in administering workplace giving and matching gifts programs.
  • Generate food and fund drive acknowledgment letters, thank-you certificates, and poundage reports.
  • Provide tours to current and prospective donors.
  • Take check presentations photos.
  • Attend speaking opportunities on behalf of St. Mary’s Food Bank, as needed.
  • Document all interactions with donors in database. Update donor records with detailed notes of activities, contacts, relationships, events, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Flexible and willing to acquire new responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Possess a positive attitude in order work closely with staff members, volunteers, and organizations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and long hours when the need arises.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
