Kid's Cafe Production Associate

Location:Surprise , AZ

Under the supervision of the Kids Cafe Production Supervisor, Kids Cafe Associates are responsible for working alongside volunteers and community service workers in the preparation and production of cold meals. The position is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance of a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and Maricopa Environmental Health regulations while meeting all quality, quantity, time and efficiency requirements.

Hours for this position are M-F, 6am-2:30pm.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the production tables with products and materials for each day’s activities including, but not limited to, bulk food breakdown and re-pack; produce sorting and cleaning and final meal bagging assembly.
  • Work side-by-side with co-workers, assigned volunteers and community service workers towards the completion of daily goals for all production activities.
  • Be alert to the progress of each daily production in real time.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory ‘Food Handling’ requirements.
  • Work closely with other key functional departments including Volunteer Services and Warehouse personnel in support of the Kids Café program
  • Assist with physical inventory checks as directed ensuring, amongst other things, the proper rotation of all date sensitive products.
  • Communicate any inventory issues and/or needs to the Kids Café Production Supervisor or Manager in a timely manner.
  • Accurate daily completion of mandatory temperature and cleaning logs
  • Daily and weekly equipment and facility cleaning as required by Standard Operating Procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED with equivalent education and work experience
  • Food Handler’s Certificate (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Physically able to lift 60 lbs

Preferred:

  • Prior experience working with seniors and/or volunteers.  
  • Previous experience / qualification in operating a Forklift Truck (or the ability and willingness to learn)
