The Partner Support Specialist role at St. Mary’s Food Bank conducts all agency monitoring visits and works with the agency while onsite to improve food safety operations including to but not limited to providing ideas for improvement and necessary and helpful items before leaving the site. This role will be to communicate with the assigned Agency Partner Specialist on report findings and discuss additional assistance and follow-up needed. The Compliance Specialist will lead any food safety follow-up and technical assistance with the agency.
Essential Functions:
Partner Agency Compliance Management
- Oversee Compliance Documentation: Request and collect annual agreements, civil rights documentation, and current food safety certifications from partner agencies via email or in person.
- Conduct Compliance Visits: Perform site visits for TEFAP, CSFP, Backpack, CACFP, and SFSP programs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Provide Food Safety Training: Educate partner agencies on best practices in food safety and the latest food recall protocols to maintain high standards.
- Deliver Practical Solutions: Offer immediate support by providing essential resources such as thermometers and freezer blankets to address urgent needs.
- Ensure Resolution and Follow-Up: Follow up on monitoring visit findings to confirm resolution, providing technical assistance and guidance as needed.
- Maintain Regulatory Expertise: Stay updated and serve as a subject matter expert on all compliance, operational, and regulatory standards, including government regulations, Feeding America guidelines, and SMFB policies.
- Support Strategic Goals: Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to advance organizational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of High School or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred with business administration, non-profit, or related field with 1-3 of years of experience.
- Previous experience working with auditing, compliance, community initiatives, non-profits, or similar environments.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; Must be able to drive company vehicle to visit Agency Partners
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
- Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to think creatively and produce solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of local and state regulatory agency operations
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
Preferred Qualifications
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Previous food distribution and non-profit work experience
